Youth Retreat - Kambarang to Birak

This is the second of three FREE commUNITY camps open to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal youth.

The FREE Youth Retreat is being delivered with support from the Mental Health Commission of WA through the Strong Spirit Strong Mind Youth Project.

This Project aims to raise awareness of the harms associated with alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues & improve social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) among young Aboriginal people and their families and communities across Western Australia.

This Project focuses on young people aged 12 to 25 years and encourages these young Aboriginal people to develop the knowledge and attitudes to choose healthy lifestyles, promote healthy environments and create safer communities.

A range of key activities have been organised including movie nights, traditional tool making workshops, beach games, bush food and bush medicine lessons, damper making, campfire stories, guided bush walks and a youth engagement session.

Throughout the weekend, participants will have unrestricted access to sports equipment, arts and crafts resources, health information resources and baking activities.
