Walk alongside local Elders through bush and special sites throughout Bindjareb country.

As custodians of ancient history, knowledge and culture, our Elders will provide you with an insight into bush plants, food and medicine, as well as share stories of the local area and activities.

We can tailor bushwalking tours to your needs, whether that be 1 hour, a half day, a full day or other, and include other services and catering on request.

The South West is home to healthy, diverse and thriving vegetation that has been used by Noongar People for food and medicine for thousands of years.

Let us share with you some of the traditional uses for many plants, bushes and trees which you see everyday, based on the six seasons.

We are fortunate enough to be surrounded by the materials and resources we need to craft tools and weapons such as spears, axes and carrying vessels.

A key component of tool making is the use of fire. Join us as we discuss the importance of fire in our culture and life and teach you how to make a fire and tools the traditional way.

Noongar people have been using yarning circles for thousands of years. Yarning was, and still is, a conversational process that involves the telling of stories as a way of passing on cultural knowledge.

These circles provide a safe place for all to speak without judgement. The conversations within a yarning circle have always focused on strengths and not problem solving and criticisms. It is a collaborative way to communicate and provides a respectful place to be heard and to respond.

We are fortunate to have a strong partnership with Bilya Moorditjabiny Training Services who offer a range of services including Noongar language courses.

Sharon and Karen are local qualified Noongar language teachers who provide an introduction and cultural emersion experience into the Noongar language. The aim is to develop listening and speaking skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Noongar culture has maintained traditional protocols and ceremonies which are still practiced today. The most prominent of these are:

These ceremonies are not only cultural and spiritual, but also physiological and healing, and are important to respect while on Bindjareb Noongar Boodja.
