Successful Grant Application: Connected Communities
Harvey Aboriginal Corporation (HAC) was successful in its grant application to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) inaugural Telstra Connected Communities funding program.
HAC was one of three organisations in Western Australia, and one of thirty across Australia to receive the grant which aims to support projects that embrace technology to foster the resilience, environmental sustainability and liveability of remote, rural and regional communities.
Funding of $8,419 has been approved to deliver the Connecting Community, Culture and Computers project. HAC will use funds to purchase digital equipment and furniture to support Aboriginal primary, secondary and tertiary education students to access digital resources. Equipment will also be used for the improved delivery of language and culture education sessions for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
